In this Morning Update came my segment that I filmed and edited called “The 3 count” where I got students to come on and draft a team of three of a specific category (4:31)
Right before Christmas break of my senior year, I decided to take a leap of faith in the broadcasting industry and reach out to a connection I had made at LiveBarn, the largest high school hockey streaming service in the country. I heard back fairly quickly and received great news: LiveBarn was looking for more basketball commentators, which is my favorite sport. Just a few days later, I was assigned five games to commentate and learned the Spideo streaming software, which allowed me to broadcast Minnesota high school basketball games from my living room in Massachusetts.
Filmed, edited, and created the Sco Athletes player of the game segment after Masco came back down 17 points with 5 minutes remaining to win the Northeast Conference Championship for the first time since joining in 2021.
I filmed, edited, and reported a news package on March Madness taking over Masco with interviews with our students and faculty.
This was the final Morning Update of my junior year. It had a funny intro, and I edited an awesome edit to go along with a recap of Masco’s year in sports.
Here is a review video I made and edited for our weekly broadcast on Northshore roast beefs.
For a funny Thanksgiving segment, I asked my football teammates how many turkeys they could take in a fight.
In the summer of 2024, I began working as a commentator for men’s softball games with Boxford Cable Access Television. It was an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience with live play-by-play commentary. While my friend handled the camera setup, I called the games, doing my best Dave O’Brien (Red Sox play-by-play announcer) impression and bringing energy and analysis to each broadcast.
